I’ve resigned, so I have plenty of time. Feel free to come and have tea with me.

FYI
When you think of drinking tea, you might imagine sitting together and pouring tea from a teapot, right? However, tea culture in China has changed over time. Among today’s young people, ‘drinking tea’ means ‘roasted tea.’ It’s a gathering of friends who warm roasted tea leaves with milk, creating a cozy and comforting milk tea. Alongside the tea, there are usually some snacks, like roasted crabs and chestnuts in autumn or roasted sweet potatoes and tangyuan (glutinous rice balls) in winter. It’s a great way to warm up your hands and enjoy good company. Doesn’t that sound appealing? Maybe something you’d like to give a try?

Negation

有的是 yǒudeshì in Chinese cannot be directly negated. Instead, if you want to convey a negative statement, you’d use phrases like 没有很多 méiyǒu hěnduō (not many) or other similar constructions to express the absence or scarcity of something.

OneDotDot Chinese

Whenever I ask foreigners, "Do you speak Chinese?" they often reply, "a little bit" (yì diǎn diǎn). That inspired me to create this website and translate "yì diǎn diǎn" into the quirky and fun "One Dot Dot."

It’s also a reminder that learning Chinese is a journey, and progress happens one step at a time. By learning just a little bit every day, you’ll go far!
