Before we look up at sushi and fish in Chinese, let me tell you a fun but sad story. There are some young people named salmon in Taiwan. Due to a restaurant in Taiwan offered free sushi to those who have salmon in their name. Hundreds of people changed their names, but Taiwan limits citizens can make name changes only two times. Without a change in the law, some are stuck with names like Salmon Dream or Dancing Salmon.

OneDotDot Chinese

Whenever I ask foreigners, "Do you speak Chinese?" they often reply, "a little bit" (yì diǎn diǎn). That inspired me to create this website and translate "yì diǎn diǎn" into the quirky and fun "One Dot Dot."

It’s also a reminder that learning Chinese is a journey, and progress happens one step at a time. By learning just a little bit every day, you’ll go far!
