The Lazy Tiger
Once upon a time, there was a tiger living in the forest. He was very lazy and didn’t want to find food for himself. He often told other animals to get him something to eat. One day, he saw a monkey and said,
“I’m hungry. Hurry and go catch me a pig from outside so I can eat it.”
The monkey replied, “Tiger, I’m sorry. It’s not that I don’t want to, but I really can’t. Because there’s another tiger out there, and he says all the pigs belong to him. He won’t let me bring food to you. That tiger even said that if I catch a pig for you, he will eat me. I’m really scared.”
“What?” the tiger roared angrily. “Where is he? Take me to see him! I’ll show him who the real king is!” “I’ll take you there, follow me!” said the monkey. The monkey led the tiger to a bridge over the river. The monkey said, “Tiger, look down from the bridge. Do you see it? That’s the tiger!”
The tiger looked down and saw another tiger in the water, roaring back at him. The tiger grew furious and shouted, “I’ll show you who the real king is!” And with that, the tiger leapt into the river.
