About

I am a dedicated and accomplished teacher with ten years of professional experience teaching Chinese as a second language. I have taught all age levels and specialize in teaching college-age students and adult professionals. I have taught Chinese in Canada, Korea, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Japan (online). My experience with a diverse group of language learners enables me to identify mistakes, and also to identify why the mistake was made.

Teaching is my passion. My approach to teaching Mandarin enables my students to learn the language and also gives them a glimpse of the wonders of Chinese culture and heritage. I work to make learning Mandarin enjoyable and accessible, from simple to more complex understandings and usages of Chinese.

I currently run a Chinese language business teaching students one-on-one or in small groups in private settings. I also work with several schools to teach business Chinese, test preparation, survival Chinese, and conversational Mandarin as a second language.

OneDotDot Chinese

Whenever I ask foreigners, "Do you speak Chinese?" they often reply, "a little bit" (yì diǎn diǎn). That inspired me to create this website and translate "yì diǎn diǎn" into the quirky and fun "One Dot Dot."

It’s also a reminder that learning Chinese is a journey, and progress happens one step at a time. By learning just a little bit every day, you’ll go far!
