(再) 加上 (zài) jiāshàng — “Moreover” 3
(再) 加上 (zài) jiāshàng introduces an extra reason, condition, or factor that strengthens what was just said — often leading to a conclusion or result.
Unlike 此外 cǐwài, which tacks on a separate point, 加上 jiāshàng piles on an extra reason that pushes the situation toward a conclusion — it’s the “and on top of that” that tips the scale.
1 Statement A，(再) 加上 + Statement B + Result
Used to introduce an extra reason or factor that reinforces the first statement. What follows strengthens the argument and often leads to a conclusion or result.
天氣很冷，再加上今天下雨，我不想出門天气很冷，再加上今天下雨，我不想出门
It’s very cold, and on top of that, it’s raining today, so I don’t want to go out.
他很努力，加上有經驗，所以工作表現很好他很努力，加上有经验，所以工作表现很好
He works hard; moreover, he has experience, so his job performance is great.
這家餐廳環境很好，再加上價格便宜，生意很好这家餐厅环境很好，再加上价格便宜，生意很好
