Grammar Point:
In Chinese, sentences often contain multiple verb phrases that express sequences of actions. When two or more verbs describe actions happening in order, they are typically placed one after the other.

Structure

S + V1 + (O) + V2 + (O)

我wǒ去qù超市chāoshì買mǎi水果shuǐguǒ我wǒ去qù超市chāoshì买mǎi水果shuǐguǒ
I go to the supermarket to buy fruit.

他tā回家huíjiā看書kànshū他tā回家huíjiā看书kànshū
He goes home and reads a book.

我wǒ下班xiàbān回家huíjiā做飯zuòfàn我wǒ下班xiàbān回家huíjiā做饭zuòfàn
I finish work, go home, and cook.

我wǒ坐車zuòchē到dào台北táiběi我wǒ坐车zuòchē到dào台北táiběi
I took a vehicle to Taipei.

我wǒ到dào台北táiběi坐車zuòchē我wǒ到dào台北táiběi坐车zuòchē
I arrived in Taipei and then took a vehicle.

我wǒ沒méi去qù機場jīchǎng送sòng朋友péngyǒu我wǒ没méi去qù机场jīchǎng送sòng朋友péngyou
I didn’t go to the airport to see my friend off.

我wǒ沒méi送sòng朋友péngyǒu去qù機場jīchǎng我wǒ没méi送sòng朋友péngyou去qù机场jīchǎng
I didn’t take my friend to the airport.

我wǒ去qù美國měiguó找zhǎo朋友péngyǒu一起yìqǐ喝hē咖啡kāfēi討論tǎolùn工作gōngzuò我wǒ去qù美国měiguó找zhǎo朋友péngyou一起yìqǐ喝hē咖啡kāfēi讨论tǎolùn工作gōngzuò
I went to the U.S. to meet my friend, have coffee together, and discuss work.
