Before we look up the office words in Chinese, let me tell you a secret. We take a nap at noon. Since the work hours in China and Taiwan can be very long, employers are willing to allow the workers to take a 30 mins ish nap to keep their energy. To have a longer nap, most Taiwanese will prepare their lunch box or instant food for lunch. By the way, we do not like to eat a sandwich as lunch, because we do not like cold food. According to Chinese medicine, we need to keep our stomachs warm, so we can avoid wasting our energy.

OneDotDot Chinese

Whenever I ask foreigners, "Do you speak Chinese?" they often reply, "a little bit" (yì diǎn diǎn). That inspired me to create this website and translate "yì diǎn diǎn" into the quirky and fun "One Dot Dot."

It’s also a reminder that learning Chinese is a journey, and progress happens one step at a time. By learning just a little bit every day, you’ll go far!
