V + 了 le + V

It is typically used with monosyllabic verbs, with the object appearing after the pattern rather than in between, making it especially common in natural spoken Chinese and narration to create a softer and more relaxed tone.

我wǒ看kàn了le看kàn手機shǒujī我wǒ看kàn了le看kàn手机shǒujī
I took a quick look at my phone.

他tā想xiǎng了le想xiǎng,沒有méiyǒu說話shuōhuà他tā想xiǎng了le想xiǎng,没有méiyǒu说话shuōhuà
He thought for a moment and didn’t say anything.
