This song is the theme from the Taiwanese film of the same name, set in 1980s Taiwan. It follows two high school boys who fall for each other at a time when being gay was both taboo and illegal there, and traces what it costs them as family, friends, and society push back.

The film was widely praised for how carefully it handled its subject, for its cinematography, and for its performances — it broke box office records for a local LGBTQ+ film in Taiwan and went on to pick up awards at festivals including Osaka and Taipei.
