把 bǎ Crisis Management Practice

The 把 bǎ construction moves the object in front of the verb: Subject + (Adverb / Modal) + 把 + Object + Verb (+ Result).

It’s used when a sentence describes what happens to a specific, already-known thing — moving it, placing it, finishing it off, or handling an urgent situation. Remember that negation words (like 沒 or 別) and modal verbs (like 得) always go before 把.

Tap the tiles below to build each emergency response sentence yourself. Work your way through all 5 real-life crises — from a sudden thunderstorm with a frightened black dog to a busy Taiwanese stir-fry kitchen!

📖 The “把” (Bǎ) Sentence Emergency Guide

Use 把 (bǎ) when an action changes, moves, or disposes of a specific object:

[Subject] + [Adverb / Negation / Modal] + 把 + [Object] + [Verb] + [Result / Place]
  • Rule 1 (Position of Negation & Modals): Words like 沒 (haven’t), 別 (don’t), 得 (must), 先 (first), and 快 (quickly) MUST go before 把.
  • Rule 2 (Verb Complement Required): You cannot end a 把 sentence with a bare verb! Always include a result or direction (e.g., 關起來, 洗乾淨, 倒進杯子裡).
